Hard to Find and Rare
Here you will find a few items in my collection that are
among the most rare or very hard to find!

Spear's Hallowe'en Ring Toss 1910- This is one of the rarest of Hallowe'en collectibles.
Notice the face in the clay pipe. Back of the pumpkin has a easel and there is a small hole
by the stem if you would want to hang it on the wall. The company J.W. Spear and Son
has a very interesting history. Founded in 1879 by Jacob Wolf Spier who had changed
the family name to Spear. In 1884 his sons Ralph and Joseph Spear became partners
and the company. Then in 1888 two of his other sons Carl and Wilhelm Spear also
became partners. On May 26 1892 a major fire at the German factory destroyed parts of
the building and most of the stock. A second fire happened in 1893 which caused local
residents to petition against the factory fearing that it was dangerous. J. W. Spear was
accused of setting fire. September 3, 1893 J. W. Spear hung himself in the factory.
In March 1899 J. W. Spear & Sons open a new factory outside of Nuremberg. Many of the
games and toys produced by J. W. Spear & Sons have become very collectible. Mostly
they are famous for inventing the board game Scrabble in 1953.

so happy it has a great home!!! THANK YOU BOO GIRL!!!!!!!
